A permit allows Builders to approve high-risk activities that workers need to complete during a project. The goal is not to prevent these works but to ensure each worker understands how to undertake the intended activity safely while giving the Builder visibility of high-risk activities happening on-site.

Accessing Permits on BuildPass

Permits are available to all customers on the Pro or Enterprise plan. If you would like this feature enabled on your account, please chat with a member of our team. BuildPass can provide permit templates if needed, or our team can migrate your existing templates into the module for you.

Permit Templates

Permits consist of three separate templates:

Application – The questions a worker will be asked when applying for the permit.

Enactment – The questions a worker will be asked when they start or stop the permitted work.

Close Out – The questions a worker will be asked when ending their permit.

How Do Workers Use Permits?

Workers can apply for a permit directly through the Worker App. Any action taken on the permit will be communicated to the worker via text message, ensuring they are kept informed throughout the process.
