The BuildPass app can automatically sign workers on and off when entering or leaving a project location, with no need to manually open the app every time. To enable this feature, you’ll first need to manually sign on once, then configure your permissions correctly.

Admin
Enable Auto Sign-Ons
On the bottom left of your screen, click Settings, and Settings again.
Click on the Sign Ons tab.
Under Geolocation, turn ON Enable auto sign on/off on the Worker app.
Optional: Configure project geolocation area
The project location you set determines where a worker enters or leaves the specified project site. Here's how to edit it:
Go to Settings > Projects and select the project you want to edit.
Ensure that the project address is accurate, dragging and dropping the map pin as needed and saving any changes made.
2. Instruct workers to set up auto sign-ons
Workers must download the latest version of the BuildPass app and:
Enable location access and push notifications
Sign on manually once to the project
You can confirm that auto sign-ons are enabled correctly, as the worker will be auto signed off when they walk away from the site, generally around 50m away.
Please note: Auto Sign-Ons do not account for the following steps and will skip them:

Download the BuildPass App (using the links below) to automatically get signed on/off as you walk on and off site.

Open the BuildPass app and go to Profile > Settings > Notifications
Turn on Location alerts and Auto sign-ons
When prompted, grant Location Access as Always Allow
Manually sign on to the project at least once to enable automatic detection
Sign on manually at least once to the project
Verify it works by leaving the site geofencing radius without opening the BuildPass app - you should be notified when you are signed on or off.
Android
Open the BuildPass app and go to Profile > Settings > Notifications
Turn on Location alerts and Auto sign-ons

Troubleshooting
Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of the app from the App Store or Google Play
Double-check your settings under Profile > Settings > Notifications. It should look like this:
On iOS, you may occasionally see reminders about background location access – auto sign-ons won’t work unless Always Allow is selected.
Important: If permissions are not correctly configured, you may not be able to sign on at all.
