What this feature does

Baselines allow you to capture a snapshot of your schedule at a specific point in time. This snapshot can then be compared against the current schedule to understand how the plan has changed.

This helps you:

  • Track schedule delays and changes

  • Compare the original plan against the current schedule

  • Support extension of time claims

  • Assess responsibility for schedule changes

When a baseline is visible, baseline bars appear on the Gantt chart alongside your current tasks so you can compare planned and current timelines.

How to save a baseline

You can create a baseline when publishing a schedule or from the schedule Actions menu.

Option 1: When publishing a schedule

  1. Log in to BuildPass Admin.

  2. Open the project containing your schedule.

  3. Click Publish.

  4. Enable Make this a baseline.

  5. Publish the schedule.

Option 2: From the Actions menu

  1. Open your Schedule.

  2. Click the Actions menu.

  3. Select Save as baseline.

Viewing baselines on the Gantt chart

You can toggle baseline visibility to compare the saved baseline against your current schedule.

  1. Open your Schedule.

  2. Open Filters.

  3. Enable Show baseline.

Important to know

  • Baselines are saved schedule snapshots used for comparison.

  • Baseline bars appear on the Gantt chart when the baseline view is enabled.

  • Your baseline visibility preference is automatically saved.

  • Saving a new baseline replaces the existing baseline snapshot.
