Changing the starting number of RFIs on a project?

Continue your existing RFI sequence in BuildPass by setting a custom starting number for new RFIs.

When managing a project that was already underway before moving into BuildPass, you may need your RFI numbering to continue from your existing sequence.

While you cannot edit the number of an individual RFI once it has been created, you can control the number that new RFIs will start from within the RFIs module.

To change the starting number for new RFIs:

  • Navigate to the RFIs module

  • Select the cog icon in the page title at the top of the screen

  • Enter the number you would like new RFIs to start from

For example, if your project was already up to RFI 22 before using BuildPass, you can set the starting number to 23. Any new RFIs created after this update will follow on from that number.

This ensures your RFI register stays aligned with your existing project documentation and avoids duplicate numbering.
