Site Logs 101
Top Tips & Best Practices for Using The Site Logs
Easily track daily site activities, manage attendance, and generate automated summaries with the Site Log feature. It’s the best way to keep a detailed record of your project's daily operations while maintaining a reliable historical log of everything that took place.
Use a Template for your Daily Description
Streamline your daily entries by creating and duplicating a custom template.
To maintain consistency in your Site Log entries, you can create a template with key headings that capture essential site activities. Below is a recommended template to include in each diary entry:
Description of Work Carried Out: A summary of the tasks completed on-site that day to ensure accurate record-keeping of daily progress.
Roadblocks/Challenges: Any issues or delays that affected progress, such as weather disruptions, equipment failures, or material shortages, which may have impacted productivity.
Changes/Variations to Work: Any deviations from the planned work, including design changes, additional tasks, or revised deadlines that required adjustments to the project timeline.
Deliveries: A list of materials or equipment that arrived on-site during the day, including details of suppliers, quantities, and the condition of the items upon arrival.
Safety Incidents: Any safety-related incidents or near misses that occurred, along with corrective actions taken and any additional safety measures implemented to prevent future risks.
Notes/Additional Comments: Any other relevant information or observations from the day, including plans for upcoming work, coordination with other teams, or general site considerations.
Once you’ve added these headings, save the entry. You can then duplicate this template for future days by selecting "Duplicate" in the menu, choosing a new date, and reusing the same format to maintain consistency in your Site Log records.
Helpful Tips!
To save time, use the microphone to record your voice instead of typing your description.
Upload all the photos you captured throughout the day to ensure they are securely backed up in the one place.
Record Accurate Attendance Data
In the Site Log, attendance is automatically recorded when workers sign on and off. This information is organized by company for easy reference. However, there may be times when you need to manually update or modify these records.
The worker hasn’t signed off
Under the Attendance heading, a small yellow clock symbol next to a subcontractor’s name indicates that the worker has not signed off. If this happens, you can manually sign them off to ensure accurate attendance records.
Modify or Add a Worker’s Attendance
You can adjust a worker’s time if they have entered incorrect sign-in or sign-off details. Any changes made in the Site Log will not be visible to the worker, and the time you enter will override their original entry.
To modify or add attendance, select the worker’s name from the dropdown list (if they are not already listed). Then, adjust the hours by entering new start and end times for the day.
Add relevant comments in the Notes section, such as "left early due to weather" or "worked overtime on kitchen installation", to provide additional context for the adjustment.
Helpful Tip!
Duplicating Hours: Use the Duplicate function to quickly apply the same hours to other workers.
Modifying attendance in the Site Log overrides the sign-on record and is only visible to you, ensuring accurate attendance and work hour tracking
